The snow front of Val-Thorens ttransforms into a open air dance party with D.J music ,champagne and fire works to celebrate New Year's Eve.

The most decadent and un-vegan Picnic ever !

On new year's day we decided to celebrate on the ruins of the roman empire. The weather was just incredibly sunny and warm  (20° C), so we went to Arles with Martine and some friends and had a great time.

 There was plenty of foie gras, pâté, comté, saucisson and other specialties....

 And some Jurançon Wine, a perfect match

After that we meditated on the fate of the Roman Empire

 And walked the medieval and renaissance streets  

 Ending in front of this wonderful Italian looking plaza and Church

 We were hoping for some redemption

 But the show was going on...

So we walked the streets again

And we drove back to Montpellier, just in time for dinner...

Happy new year 2012 everyone !!
I wish you all the very best, a lot of love and I hope we'll get a chance to gather everyone very soon. I'm so happy I got a chance to visit some of you in the States last summer. :)

Here is a video of the fireworks in London, I heard it was amazing, and you can see for yourself on that video.
No fireworks in Paris, question of safety...too bad, but I had a very nice time with my friends.

Christmas in Paris

This year, Santa brought us a lot of presents again.

We had a wonderful diner at Martine's

Melville was very happy

Our "new" cousin Erica came too. She's from Orange County and studies in London. She's staying at my place until after new year's eve. We are getting along so well.

We went to Merci, as usual

They sell those beautiful stars. 300€ for the small one 400€ for the big one. You know what to get for Claire's next Christmas :)

Amsterdam

I just went to Amsterdam with some of my friends for 3 days. We were lucky with the weather, it rained a little, but not as much as it was supposed to, and it wasn't too cold either.

It's really pretty, very touristic but very nice.

They have bikes EVERYWHERE, and they're dangerous !!!

They have cheese everywhere too, and it's really really good. Pesto cheese, pepper cheese, cumin, herbs, garlic, smoked...... you can taste everything.

They have those waffles with whipped cream and chocolate and strawberries. Couldn't try, it's too much, but I had a very good simple waffle.

They even have a vegan café !

Their houses are all bent, it's really weird
