A Chicago Thanksgiving

Yesterday the Roses and I went to the Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade. It wasn't nearly as large as the NY Parade, but the boys had a great time.

This was our view for about an hour...waiting for it to start.

Finally...

The best part was seeing the balloons duck underneath the 'el', the elevated train that runs throughout Chicago. (Click on the image below and look at the far right side.)

Here's a shot of how they have to maneuver the balloons under the train tracks :)

And...the food!

We had Chestnut Stuffing with puff pastry and gravy, Baked Corn, Cauliflower Mousseline, Mashed Potatoes with cream cheese and green onions, Fresh Cranberry and Orange Relish, Green Bean Casserole, Coconut Cream Pie + Pumpkin Pie.

My mom made the stuffing, gravy, baked corn and cauliflower. I made the potatoes, cranberry relish and green bean casserole. We bought the desserts :) Coconut cream pie from Karyn's Cooked, where we ate when you were here, and a raw Pumpkin Pie from someone in Boardman.
