Will you dump dirt right over the grass or will you till up all the grass? We are trying to put planting beds in our backyard, and was wondering if we should rent a dirt tiller to loosen the soil. Are you using treated or untreated lumber for the raised bed? How high is the bed?
well, at this point, it is just someone's yard. we will till the soil and bring in our own extra organic dirt and fertilizer if needed. we're going to our farmers market this weekend to pick up plants (herbs, tomatoes, green onions, etc). i don't know how it's all going to work yet but i will keep documenting as we go! i don't think we will need lumber in our case.
