We spent the day in Caen, in Normandie, a town that was mostly destroyed during World War 2.
Some students in our class are working on a project of creating a exhibition place in a ancient church.
(For my part, I will be working on a project of restructuration of a small old people's home.)
A picture of Caen from the old Castle.
This is the church of the project. Part of it is gone because of the bombings. It's closed because it's too dangereous, but we took some closer pictures !
So you can see how unsteady it is !
This is the Abbaye aux Hommes, so huge and beautiful !
Pictures of after the bombings, and the reconstruction.
This is the old fortress they are trying to rebuilt, well not rebuilt but give the idea of what it used to be.
I like how they work with the confrontation between the stone and the rough wood.

You don't say "old people" anymore !
Use "Seniors" or better "still young (and busy) after all these years" please !

lol Claire
Well tell Google translation that, because he doesn't know it yet !!
